Magic Image Arabians began in 1990, with the gift of a weanling filly from Sharon's brother. That filly, Gaimena, returned to our farm a few years ago! The first mares were predominantly Polish, with some Crabbet and Russian, and a tad bit of Egyptian bloodlines; our foundation stallion was AF Vanitys Repeat, a *Silver Vanity son. Sharon, owner of Magic Image Arabians, had been drawn to Egyptian lines as a child, when she came across a few old Arabian magazines, and then an advertisement for Egyptian Heritage Farms (EHF). EHF had imported several stallions from the EAO in Cairo, and Sharon dreamed mightedly about the horses she saw on that page! Her shyness prevented her from visiting the farm before it was dispersed as the owner returned to Egypt, but, as fate would have it, she later purchased (in partnership) two stallions from that farm.
Over the years, we have been fortunate to acquire many top-quality broodmares and stallions. Through careful, thoughtful breeding, we have created fantastic foal crops, as evidenced by show ring success with very limited exposure.
Until recently, we also operated a large rescue & rehabilitation program, funded solely by income from this farm and Sharon's other income. Sharon's confidentiality policy was controversal, but resulted in many more lives being saved; besides, she found it difficult to distinguish veterinary-client-patient confidentiality from these situations!
We believe that no horse should be bred without careful consideration of the longterm ramifications. Unless we are willing to take a horse back if it is in need in the future, we will not breed.
